As a native to Utah, Alex grew up in the mountains doing every activity she could get her hands on. From ice climbing, rock climbing, to skiing, and anything to get her outside. She has experienced her own personal healing and growth through outdoor therapeutic settings. She quickly found passion in working with teenagers by empowering them and helping them see their worth. Her greatest desire is to help others live in the truth that they are seen, heard, loved, and enough.
Through her various career paths, she kept coming back to residential care for teenage females where she had the opportunity to mentor clients in their journey of healing and self-discovery. She studied Recreational Therapy at BYU-Idaho and her next goal is to go back to school to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. She is passionate about helping heal the family system and the power that comes as we heal together as a family unit through vulnerability and experiences together.
Alex connects with the values and purpose of what ROOTs Transition is built on. As the Operations Director at ROOTs, Alex seeks to work hands on and live in her top values: relationships, connection, outdoors and fun. Her years of experience in the field and her desire to build an environment of support, healing and connection, align with the vision at ROOTs.
